Onyx is a young colt with a wealth of breeding behind him. His sire LINDSAY – IS HSH, needs no introduction. He has sired 4 Warwick gold cup winners and placegetters, national futurity champions and many other performance horse champions including CHEVIN IVORY – HSH.

His dam GILGANNON SEAGULL – HSH is a half sister to Ian Glasby’s great campdrafting stallion RIFLEMAN – HSH, half sister to Andy Gilmore’s GILGANNON CAVALIER II – HSH, and half sister to Clem Barnetts stallion GILGANNON MR MINSTRIL – HSH. Sea Gull herself is by ELLIOTS CREEK CADET – FS HSH and was a very athletic mare. She was campdrafted by Ian Glasby and won may open drafts including winning her novice and open at Dalby on the same day. Ian has described riding her was like driving a black sports car down the highway.

After her campdrafting career she played high goal polo winning many champion polo pony awards. With these bloodlines Onyx should succeed in any field and has already exceeded our expectations.

Onyx has been lightly shown at the start of the 2010 year and at his 3rd show won champion led stallion, champion working (beating our mare Caralta Classic) and going on to win supreme ridden ASH.

Onyx had his first campdraft at Hawkesdale, VIC on the 19th Febuary 2011 under the guidance of Steve Hart.  Onyx scored a 80 with a 20 in the camp.  What a great start for a 3 year old.   Onyx was also able to place 6th in the maiden draft at Jugiong.

Onyx is now (December 2011) based in Warwick and doing some miles in the hills with Ian Glasby.

At the 2012 Warwick Gold Cup, Onyx and Ian placed 9th overall in the stallion draft out of 89 stallions from across the country.
